From January 2016, KAT will be fitting the Ultion lock cylinder to all of our uPVC Sliding Patio Doors for your added security.
The doors in our home have 2 principle jobs:
- to keep the bad weather out
- to keep intruders out.
This is why we have made the decision not to compromise your security and from 25th January 2016, KAT will fit the Ultion lock cylinder, as standard, to each of our uPVC Patio Doors.
How does Ultion work?
The moment that Ultion detects forced entry it activates an attack lock directly into the central cam, this is ‘Lockdown Mode’.
Even if the most determined intruder gets past Ultion’s two sacrificial sections he won’t get to the attack lock because it is protected deep inside a solid molybdenum core and secured with a dedicated retaining pin. When Ultion is in Lockdown Mode your home and family are safe. Most locks have 5 or 6 retaining pins, Ultion has 11. If intruders have tried to enter your home and have tampered with your Ultion lock, you will still be able to use the lock to open your door, leaving you in complete control of the security of your home.
